University of Florida Gators
The University of Florida is located in Gainesville Florida. It is the third largest university in the USA. The University of Florida's mascot is the Alligator or "Gator." The Florida Gator football team beat Ohio State by 41-14 to win the 2006 BCS National Championship in Glendale, Arizona.

The popular thirst quenching drink, Gatorade was invented by Dr. Robert Cade of the University of Florida.It took the "Gator" name and added "ade" onto the end and you got Gatorade a drink meant to re-hydrate athletes who were involved in strenuous physical activity in hot weather causing them to sweat a lot.
